Seven fire departments were on scene at an apartment fire in Chili Tuesday afternoon.
Chili Fire Chief Kevin Steeves says a unit housing two-dozen apartments was heavily damaged when the fire broke out around 3:30 p.m. at the Blueberry Hill Apartments on Wind Willow Way, off Chili Avenue.
The roof of the unit where the fire apparently started caved in, and a firefighter was slightly injured when part of a ceiling fell on him. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Everybody who was home was alerted by fire alarms and got out safely, but Chief Steeves says it will be some time before many of them can go back home.
