One of the three people charged in the murder of a Sodus couple last year has pleaded guilty instead to a charge of manslaughter.
Childers had been charged with second degree murder in the deaths of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn over what authorities say was a custody battle between Childers and Niles over their two children.
Niles and Washburn were shot down outside their home by Childers husband, TImothy Dean. He remains charged with murder. Prosecutors wouldn’t comment on whether Childers will testify against him as part of her plea deal. They do say the Niles and Washburn families were consulted and are OK with the deal.
