The Monroe County Health Department says a child attending Camp Eastman has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.
A letter from Irondequoit Town Supervisor Dave Seeley to parents of children attending Camp Eastman says the test was on July 6th, in a child attending the “Older Camp.” Seeley says a group of 10 campers and two staffers have been told to quarantine by the health department.
Seeley says it’s “highly unlikely” the camper caught the virus while at the camp, and the health department expressed no concern over the camp continuing.
To prevent spread of COVID-19, the campers are broken into groups of 10 with two staffers, and everyone wears a mask. Each group also has its own supplies which they don’t share.
