Leonardo Reginatto picks up two doubles in the loss for Rochester.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Knights scored early and often Wednesday night as they cruised to a 9-2 win over the Red Wings to win the rubber game of the three-game set in Charlotte.
The Knights plated a run in the first, two in the second and three in the third as they built a commanding 6-0 lead and chased Wings starter Myles Jaye (0-1) from the game.
Ryne Harper, just promoted from Double-A, made his Red Wings debut in relief of Jaye and allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts over two innings.
The Wings scored a run in the fifth inning on a Bobby Wilson RBI single that scored Leonardo Reginatto from second. They also plated a run in the ninth on Kennys Vargas’ second homer of the series.
Reginatto picked up a pair of doubles for Rochester.
Despite the loss, the Wings had a productive 4-2 road trip and after an off day Thursday, the Wings start a 7-game, 6-day homestand on Friday night at Frontier Field against the Columbus Clippers.
