Federal prosecutors say the explosion that damaged mailboxes in a downtown Rochester building was the result of a dispute between neighbors in a Pleasant Street apartment complex.

They’ve charged Melissa Trenholm with damaging or destroying property by means of an explosive.

The explosion went off in the building at Pleasant Street and North Clinton Avenue on January 26. One of a row of mailboxes used by the building had been damaged. A property manager told investigators about a feud between two residents in the building. A search found explosive devices at Trenholm’s late father’s house in Hamlin.
