There’s a change in leadership at Wegmans. Danny Wegman has announced that his daughter, Colleen Wegman (right), has been named president and CEO of the family-owned grocery chain.
Danny Wegman will become chairman, following in his father’s footsteps.
Now 70, Danny Wegman says it’s time to create a structure for the future of the expanding company that will allow it to remain vibrant and family-owned. He says the company will be in good hands with his daughter.
Colleen Wegman has been with the family business since 1991. Wegmans now runs 92 supermarkets across New York, Pennslyvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts.
