The American Red Cross says it needs to replenish an extremely low blood supply. It’s put out a call for blood and platelet donations. With an eye on the forecast, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has declared a Cool Sweep for today and a Heat Emergency for Wednesday in the city. People can get relief from the heat with extended hours at city pools, Durand Eastman Beach and spray parks. Fire hydrants will also be spraying noon to 4:00 p.m. […]
Rochester police broke up a couple of group fights in downtown Rochester late last night after the July 4th fireworks had ended. Police say they got calls about fights at St. Paul and Division Street and a Broad Street and South Avenue. Both groups were ordered out of the area and no injuries were reported.
