Gunshots were fired into a home on Sherman Street in Rochester just before 11:00 Monday night. Police say an officer on patrol heard the fire and found bullet holes in the house where a 52 year old man and a 52 year old woman live. Neither was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
A Rochester man in his 30s died at the hospital early Sunday morning, the 44th homicide in Rochester this year. Police say the man was shot near Lyell Avenue and Whitney Street, and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Major Crimes Unit is now investigating.
Kelvin Vickers, 21, of Boston, pleaded not guilty Saturday to the murder of Rochester Police Officer Tony Mazurkiewicz and the wounding of officer Sino Seng.
