Canandaigua Police say this morning they’ve questioned several persons of interest, but they have no arrest yet in a shooting outside the Villager Restaurant late last night.

One man remains hospitalized after being shot at least twice outside the Villager and the V-Pub bar on South Main Street. Canandaigua Police Chief Stephen Hedworth says the victim was shot either in or near his car in the parking lot and staggered into the bar where a live music event was underway, asking for help.

Police say the victim was hit in the upper body and in the leg and was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital. He’s expected to recover. Officers detained a carload of people who were leaving the scene when they arrived and questioned them overnight, but did not charge any of them.

Canandaigua Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the event in the parking lot to please give them a call.
