The City of Canandaigua is looking at its options after a troubled Canandaigua Lake resort project was dealt another blow this week.
David Christa of Christa Construction and Robert Morgan of Morgan Management pulled out of a partnership with the original developers on the Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort. The half-built resort hotel is on the former Steamboat Landing site on Canandaigua Lake.
Both developers had partnered with the original development team of David Genecco and Bob Murphy to get the stalled project back on track. City officials confirm the Rochester developers were unable to come to terms with Genecco and his partner and withdrew this week.
The $54 million project is supposed to be a 164 room resort hotel. It’s been stalled for the past year since workers went unpaid and subcontractor filed a $2.8 million lien against the property.
