The Cambodia Times says the fraud trial of State Assemblyman Bill Nojay and three of his business partners has been delayed.
The trial was supposed to resume yesterday in Cambodia but was delayed after the alleged victim asked that the judge be removed. According to the paper, the victim claims the judge and one of the witnesses are friends.
Nojay and three other men, one a former U.S. Ambassador, formed a company to export rice from Cambodia. The company failed and a Cambodian investor claims she was swindled out of $1 million. A prosecutor agreed and said the company was just a shell.
Nojay and his partners say it was just a business that failed.
