Rochester tops the Norfolk Tides, 5-3, on Wednesday afternoon.

FT. MYERS, FL. — Five Rochester relievers combined to toss 5.0 scoreless innings as the Red Wings beat the Norfolk Tides 5–3 Wednesday afternoon in Ft. Myers, FL.

Nick Burdi, Mason Melotakis, Alan Busenitz, Luke Bard, and John Curtiss all fired an inning of scoreless relief apiece. Burdi (5th) and Melotakis (6th) each set the side down in order. Bard fanned the side in the 8th after the first two hitters of the inning each on a single and an error.

Tyler Duffey started on the hill for the Red Wings (1–0) and was charged for three runs, all scoring in the 3rd, on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Ryan Walker finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Travis Harrison drove in two runs as part of a 2-for-4 day and Quintin Berry added an RBI triple and two runs scored to pace the offense.

Rochester travels to Port Charlotte tomorrow to face Durham at 1 pm.
