A hunter’s bullet struck a house in Rush on Sunday, narrowly missing a woman who was feeding her chickens in the yard.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the home on Rush West Rush Road about 12:30 p.m. The Department of Environmental Conservation was also called in. DEC police have identified a suspect and the investigation continues.
Homeowner Dave Sluberski said via social media that one of the bullets narrowly missed his wife. He said there were two distinct shots, with one shotgun slug striking his house.
Slubserski, who has hunted since he was a teenager, said many of his neighbors hunt but are responsible about it.
