The Buffalo News reports that the FBI is investigating business deals involving property manager Robert Morgan, one of the men behind the Tower 280
project at Midtown and plans to develop a mixed-use performing arts center project on Parcel 5.
Morgan Management has bought up apartment complexes and properties for redevelopment in 14 states for more than a decade, including both Rochester and Buffalo.
The paper quotes five sources with direct knowledge of the FBI inquiry. It says agents are looking into how Morgan’s companies finance their acquisitions.
Morgan didn’t comment for the article, but has told previous interviewers that he borrows money and pays it back, the same way as everybody else
