A Buffalo-area Navy veteran is asking people not to enter New Era field until after the kickoff of their November 12th game against the New Orleans Saints, showing opposition to the players who knelt Sunday for the National Anthem.
Players on many teams knelt, locked arms or refused to take the field during the anthem on Sunday in protest of President Trump’s comment that protesting players should be fired. Some team owners joined in.
Travis Griffin, who identifies as a Bills fan, is trying to organize people who don’t agree with the team’s protest. He wants them to stand outside the stadium until the kickoff to show their respect for the flag and their disagreement with the protests.
The Bills organization hasn’t commented.
