According to a message on the district’s website, the Brighton Central School District is dropping plans to send children back to full-time classroom instruction for the rest of the school year. Full-time in-person classes will resume in the fall as New York emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brighton school officials say this is by the numbers: the daily COVID infection numbers in the community have to be below an average of 100 per 100,000 people to meet the state limit for resuming full-time classes. Currently the seven day rolling average is 125.5

The district says grades 6-12 will now continue with the part online learning at home-part classroom instruction for the rest of this school year.
