Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson is leaving his department for a senior management job at the University of Rochester.
Henderson has a more than 30 year career in law enforcement, mostly with the Brighton PD. He spent the past six years as chief. He’ll retire effective January 30th.
Supervisor Bill Moehle says Henderson set a high standard of conduct for Brighton Police and his commitment to the entire Brighton community was second to none.
Henderson introduced body-worn cameras for all Brighton officers and started the department’s community engagement initiative. He also chaired the Monroe County Law Enforcement Council.
