When an apparent terrorist attack killed a police officer and wounded two others in Paris, 40 Brighton High School students on their spring trip were too close for comfort.
The Brighton Central School District says the entire group is safe and accounted for. The students were on the Champs-Elysees, touring the Arc de Triomphe when the shooting started. They were herded into a shop and then evacuated from the area.
The district says the students were not aware of the incident as it took place and didn’t witness the shootings. They were not in immediate danger, but their evening itinerary was changed because of the security level in Paris.
