The Town of Brighton is adding 26 acres of land to Buckland Park through a purchase agreement with the Faith Temple.
In a press conference, Supervisor Bill Moehle said that will make Buckland the town’s largest park. The land acquisition is on the eastern end of the park, and it will cost the town $1.2 million.
Moehle says the town plans to borrow the money and pay it back over 20 years, at a cost to taxpayers of about $5.50 per year each.
Buckland Park is off Westfall Road between South Clinton Avenue and Winton Road. It’s the former Buckland farm site.
