A well-known Greece businessman has died while on his way to see his son promoted to Eagle Scout.
Daniel Richardson died of a heart attack on Saturday, according to his family. Richardson was a former nursing home operator and currently owner of the Braddock Bay Tavern and Grill. He was 64.
Richardson and his wife, Carol, used to own and manage the Latta Road and Hamilton Manor nursing homes. He sold them to Hurlbutt nursing homes and they bought the Braddock Bay Tavern in 2015. Completely renovated, the tavern is known for its food and its chef brought in from France.
Richardson was heavily involved in the community and was past president of the Greece School Board. He served as chairman of the Easter Seal Society of Western New York and on a number of non-profit boards.
The family has asked for memorials to go to the Boy Scouts of America, and his service will be held Saturday at First Bible Baptist Church in Hilton.
