ROCHESTER, N.Y. — As part of the Rochester Knighthawks’ support for Shootout for Soldiers, Rochester Knighthawks transition man Brad Gillies will hold a free one-hour lacrosse clinic on Sunday, July 23 at Canandaigua Academy. The clinic will begin at 10 am at the field adjacent to the main turfed stadium.
Shootout for Soldiers is a 24-hour national fundraising lacrosse event that benefits American military veterans. Veterans Outreach Center will also receive some of the proceeds.
The 24 one-hour games will be played at Canandaigua Academy from Saturday, July 22 to Sunday, July 23. The event, which is open to men’s and women’s teams of all ages, will keep a running score between the two teams, Stars and Stripes.
Shootout for Soldiers (SFS) was started in 2012 in Baltimore, Md. Over the past five years, the event has raised over $1.5 million and expanded its footprint throughout the United States.
