A water main break in Erie County means boil water advisories for people in the Towns of Pembroke, Darien and the Village of Corfu in Genesee County.
All three are supplied through the Monroe County Water Authority…but the authority buys the water from Erie County, and the water main break cut the pressure in the supply line.
The MCWA says they want to excercise “an abundance of caution” just in case the pressure drop allowed any contamination to leak into the system. They’re advising the Pembroke, Darien and Corfu residents to boil the water for one minute before drinking it.
