Black Lives Matter protests wound through downtown Rochester Saturday and Sunday, as demonstrators demanded an end to police brutality and an end to racism in American society.
Protests also took place in Brighton, Victor, Batavia and other communities around the region over the weekend.
At the Liberty Pole downtown, they set up voter registration tables and urged people to vote in November.
BLM read a list of demands including dropping charges against those accused of rioting and damaging property the previous weekend, when police cars were overturned and burned. They want School Resource Officers taken out of city schools and the Rochester police department to be de-funded and the money used for community purposes.
