In Buffalo’s two blockbuster trades Friday, they acquired talent now to fill the holes left behind by Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby. And for the future they now have a half dozen picks in the first three rounds of the 2018 draft.

Buffalo Bills Insider Chris Brown provides the details. Here is his report:

Buffalo’s wheeling and dealing on Friday certainly left many mouths agape. Out the door were the team’s top receiver and top cornerback. The Bills did however, acquire two players who could potentially fill those roles in Jordan Matthews and E.J. Gaines, while also loading up with a treasure chest of draft picks for next spring.

The Bills now have a pair of first, second and third-round picks in the 2018 draft. They have Kansas City’s first-round pick next spring in addition to their own. They have the Rams second-round pick and the Eagles third-round pick in addition to their own choices in those respective rounds.

The three picks leave Buffalo’s front office with enormous flexibility entering the 2018 draft next spring. They now have the ammunition to make almost any move up or down the draft board.

In a draft class widely seen to be offering solid top end talent at quarterback and defensive end, the Bills can make any move they deem necessary to land a prized prospect.

This past spring, Buffalo were active trade partners, trading down for first-round pick Tre’Davious White and up for second-round picks Zay Jones and Dion Dawkins.
