The Buffalo Bills have signed Stephen Hauschka to a two-year extension, the team announced Wednesday afternoon.
The contract will pay Hauschka $8 million over the term, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hauschka, who signed with Buffalo as a free agent in the 2017 offseason, was set to enter the final year of his contract. The former Seattle Seahawks kicker has become a reliable source of points for the Bills, as he’s made 83.6 percent of his field-goal attempts over the past two seasons.
He’s also been nearly automatic on extra points, sinking all but one extra point attempt in a Buffalo uniform (54 of 55).
Hauschka, who has completed more than 90 percent of his field-goal attempts in two of his 11 professional seasons, is widely looked at as one of the more reliable kickers in the NFL.
Though the 34-year-old struggled to close out the 2018 season, missing five out of his final 11 attempts, this does not appear to be a concern for the Bills’ front office. They’ve shown Hasuch-money the money, locking him up for the foreseeable future.
