Buffalo turned a free agent visit by LB Carl Bradford into a signing on Tuesday.
Buffalo Bills Insider Chris Brown provides the details. Here is his report:
Buffalo took a pair of linebackers late in the 2017 draft, but the Bills are looking to add as much competition as possible. On Tuesday they hosted free agent LB Carl Bradford and signed him the same day.
Bradford (6-1, 248) had been tendered an exclusive rights tender in February by the Niners, but was waived as part of a 13-player purge by the San Francisco 49ers a week ago.
He was signed by San Francisco late last season after he was released by Green Bay and appeared in two games for the 49ers. Bradford has experience at the weak side linebacker position, but in a different defensive scheme than Buffalo’s.
Where the Bills see the third-year player as a potential fit will be up to Buffalo’s coaching staff.
A former fourth-round pick of the Packers in the 2014 NFL draft, Bradford, 24, ran a 4.76 in his NFL combine workout.
