Police came to LeSean McCoy’s house three times before reported assault – The Buffalo News
Police reports from LeSean McCoy’s house outside Atlanta where his ex-girlfriend was assaulted early Tuesday during an apparent robbery show a troubled relationship between McCoy and the woman that the star Buffalo Bills running back had been trying to get her to move out of the house – or at least get furniture and other belongings out of the house for a year.
The documents show the Milton, Ga., Police Department were called three times to the house in the past year.
They show that McCoy was trying to get jewelry back from the woman, Delicia Cordon, back in July of 2017. Cordon’s attorney said that during the attack at McCoy’s house, the assailant “demanded specific items of jewelry” that McCoy had given to Cordon as a gift and asked for her to return and that “he would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.”
In addition, the reports indicate McCoy expressed concern to police about the incidents at his house being perceived as domestic violence. McCoy “stated that he was trying to be very careful about being around [Cordon] given the climate of domestic abuse his profession,” a report from a July 3, 2017, incident said.
The National Football League has come under fire following numerous incidents of domestic violence committed by players.
None of the reports prior to the July 10 incident involve any physical violence and Milton police have not named a suspect or filed any charges related to that incident as of Thursday.
But a woman who identified herself as Cordon’s best friend posted a graphic photo on Instagram of Cordon covered in blood accusing McCoy of being responsible for the attack. Cordon’s lawyer has also released two images of Cordon, one is the same image of Cordon covered in blood. A second showed her blood-covered hand and wrist.
McCoy denied the allegations on Tuesday in a Twitter statement. Both the Bills and the NFL have said they are reviewing the allegations against McCoy.
