Buffalo hires Eric Washington as the new coach.

The Buffalo Bills announced a new addition to their coaching staff Thursday. Head coach Sean McDermott hired Eric Washington as his new defensive line coach.
Washington, 50, was most recently the defensive coordinator in Carolina under former head coach Ron Rivera. He served in that capacity for the Panthers for the last two seasons. Prior to that he was Carolina’s defensive line coach for seven season (2011-2017).
Washington worked with McDermott for six of those seasons when the Bills head coach was the Panthers defensive coordinator (2011-2016).
Under Washington’s tutelage in Carolina, DT Kawann Short reached the Pro Bowl and Charles Johnson accumulated 41 sacks over four seasons.
