Teams have somewhere around 90 players and they have do get down to 53. That’s going to create a lot of roster transactions over the next two days.
Here’s a full tracker of moves, as of 5:19 pm, made by the Bills as they build their final roster ahead of the 2019 season:
Made team
TE Tyler Kroft
According to the AP, the Bills are keeping Tyler Kroft on the 53-man roster. This mean he will not land on the injured reserve list and could be available to play when the season opens on Sept. 8 against the Jets.
OL Ryan Bates
The once overlooked, traded for offensive lineman in Ryan Bates, an undrated free agents signee of the Eagles, had his roster labeled as “looking good” via the Buffalo News. The Bills sent Eli Harold to the Eagles for him, who was cut by Philly.
CB Siran Neal
Buffalo’s big nickel cornerback was also labeled as “looking good” by the BN. He’s played behind Taron Johnson this offseason after starting his career at safety.
S Jaquan Johnson
It appears the Bills’ rookie safety has made the team. He tweeted he’s “ready for the regular season” on Friday.
DE Darryl Johnson
The Athletic reports that defensive end Darryl Johnson has made the Bills’ final roster. Johnson was a seventh-round pick of the Bills and will sit in a rotation behind the likes of Jerry Hughes, Trent Murphy, and Shaq Lawson.
S Dean Marlowe
The veteran safety is reportedly safe. His wife posted to Instagram that he’s made the Bills’ final roster.
Released
RB LeSean McCoy
The Bills shocked the NFL by releasing McCoy.
RB Senorise Perry
The Athletic says the Bills running back who took OJ Simpson’s No. 32 this offseason has been released.
CB Cam Lewis
The University at Buffalo cornerback has been released, NYUP.com says. ESPN reports that the Bills plan to bring him back to their practice squad. He has spent the past few weeks in the concussion protocol.
DT Kyle Peko
Peko, who missed the start of Bills camp due to a family situation, was released by the Bills, per The Athletic.
CB Lafayette Pitts
A big special teams contributor in Lafayette Pitts has been released, according to ESPN. With Munnerlyn released earlier in the day, it’s a bit of a surprise move and the team could search the waiver wire for a cornerback.
CB Captain Munnerlyn
A veteran of Sean McDermott’s defense, cornerback Captain Munnerlyn has been released by the Bills, per NFL Network,
QB Tyree Jackson
The Bills are apparently only carrying two quarterbacks as NFL Network reports that they’ve cut third-string QB Tyree Jackson.
RB Marcus Murphy
Murphy was cut by the Bills, per the Buffalo News. He scored on a punt return in the team’s preseason finale.
WR Ray-Ray McCloud
In a packed house, McCloud is an odd-man out, per NYUP.com. The sophomore wideout led the team in receptions in the preseason finale, catching five passes in the comeback win.
WR Duke Williams
The Bills have parted ways with wide receiver Duke Williams, according to The Athletic. Williams signed a futures contract in January and had impressed throughout the summer, catching two touchdown passes in the preseason. According to multiple reports, Buffalo hopes to bring the physical receiver back on its practice squad.
WR Victor Bolden
The Buffalo News reports the Bills have released wideout Victor Bolden Jr. He faced an uphill battle with John Brown and Cole Beasley’s additions to the roster this offseason.
S Abraham Wallace
The Bills released safety Abraham Wallace, per The Athletic. Buffalo has cut and brought Wallace a few times already, which could make him a candidate for the team’s practice squad.
CB Denzel Rice
Denzel Rice has been released, per The Athletic. He spent time on Buffalo’s roster and practice squad last season.
DT LT Walton
In a packed defensive tackle room, The Athletic reports LT Walton is out. The former sixth-round pick of the Steelers was stuck on the depth chart behind the likes of Harrison Phillps and Jordan Phillips.
DT Roderick Young
Roderick Young, an undrafted free agent signee of the Bills, has been release, The Athletic says.
WR Nick Easley
Wideout Nick Easley was released by the Bills on Friday. He was an undrafted signee of the the team following the 2019 NFL draft. The Athletic first reported.
OL Demetrius Rhaney
A late addition to the team, NYUP.com reports Demetrius Rhaney has been released.
TE Keith Towbridge
Former practice squad member in tight end Keith Towbridge has been released, The Athletic reports. Towbridge was viewed as a player low on the team’s depth chart.
Traded
OL Russell Bodine
The Bills sent center Russell Bodine to the New England Patriots for a sixth-round pick.
OL Wyatt Teller
Teller is now a member of the Cleveland Browns. The Bills acquired a fifth and sixth-round picks for Teller, while also sending a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Browns in the deal.
