Buffalo Bills Insider Chris Brown provides all the details. Here is his report:
Experiencing a shortage at the wide receiver position due to injury the Bills acted on Tuesday promoting WR Ed Eagan from the practice squad to help increase Buffalo’s numbers at the position.
Eagan (5-10, 193) was signed to the Bills practice squad on Sept. 27 where he has worked primarily as a scout team receiver before getting the call up Tuesday. The rookie out of Northwestern State is a quick and elusive wide out that gets in and out of his cuts quickly. Creating quick separation is important in the scope of Buffalo’s passing offense.
Originally signed as an undrafted rookie by Dallas, Eagan spent time with the Cowboys and Cleveland Browns this past offseason.
Eagan played in 44 games in college, playing the first nine at cornerback before making the switch to wide receiver. He also has a wealth of return game experience as both a kick and punt returner.
To make room for Eagan on the active roster, the Bills released T Michael Ola.
Bills sign TE Christian, WR Mose Frazier, and DB Joe Powell to the team’s practice squad.
The Bills re-signed TE Gerald Christian, who had been on the active roster, but was released last week.
Frazier originally entered the NFL with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL Draft. The 5-10, 196-pound Memphis product has spent time on the Broncos practice squad this season. Frazier caught 135 passes for 1,599 yards and eight touchdowns in three seasons at Memphis.
Powell originally entered the NFL in 2016 during training camp with the New York Giants. The 6-2, 205-pound Globe Institute product has spent time with the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks of the PIFL and the Cleveland Gladiators of the AFL. Powell played one season at Globe Tech in 2013, recording 53 tackles, 1.5 sacks and one interception as a strong safety.
The Bills have also released WR Corey Washington from the team’s practice squad.
