Prior to Buffalo’s Week 14 matchup against Pittsburgh, the team promoted LB Bryson Albright to the 53-man roster.

Buffalo Bills Insider Chris Brown provides the details. Here is his report:

Down a key special teamer in LB Lerentee McCray this week the Bills added a linebacker to the active roster Saturday, calling LB Bryson Albright up from the practice squad.

“We need that big body on special teams,” said head coach Rex Ryan. “Pittsburgh has a big core group you know and we needed a big, fast guy so it makes sense.”

The Bills had an open roster spot after placing Percy Harvin on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list.

Albright (6-5, 225) was originally signed by the Bills last May as an undrafted rookie. He impressed in training camp and the preseason. Ryan also liked the outside linebacker’s length and his speed despite his size. He didn’t do quite enough to earn a spot on the 53-man roster following the preseason, but he’s been on Buffalo’s practice squad all season.

Albright is expected to be part of the team’s kick and punt coverage units Sunday.
