The Buffalo Bills announced on Sunday that they have signed defensive end, Ryan Russell. Russell was originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth round, with pick number 163, in 2015. After one season with Dallas, Russell was signed to the Buccaneers practice squad. On Nov. 12, 2016, the Buccaneers promoted Russell to the 53-man roster.

The 6-foot-5, 273-pound defensive end started in 6 games last season with Tampa Bay, seeing time on both defense and special teams.

The 26-year-old Russell played his college football at Purdue, where he was fourth in the Big Ten Conference in forced fumbles as a freshman. Russell played four seasons the Boilermakers before and he compiled 9.5 sacks and 149 tackles, 24.5 of which were for a loss.

Russell will enter his fourth NFL season with the Bills.
