A major gap in the regional bike and walking trail system through the Town of Greece will be filled in with $3.4 million in Federal Highway Administration and State Transportation Department funding.
Town Hall says it will go to finish the Route 390 Trail from its current end at Route 104 south to the Erie Canal and the Canalway Trail in Greece Canal Park. That was always the plan, but the money couldn’t be spared until federal funding became available.
Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say another trail connection will be built off the new extension at Ridgeway Avenue. It will run through the Eastman Business Park to connect with the Genesee Riverway Trail at the Genesee Gorge in Rochester.
Planners working to redevelop the former Kodak Park say it’s an attraction for new and expanding businesses for their employees to be able to bike directly to work.
