Monroe County Clerk Adam Bello told a meeting of Brighton Democrats Monday night that he plans on running for county executive in the fall, according to the “Democrat and Chronicle” which was at the meeting.
That would see the popular Democrat running against an equally popular Republican County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, who is up for re-election after her first term.
Bello did not elaborate and said he would speak more later.
Dinolfo was county clerk before she became executive, as was her predecessor, Maggie Brooks.
