Monroe County Executive Adam Bello called Monday for people to wear masks or other face coverings in public to help avoid getting or spreading the coronavirus.
Bello says he’s starting to see fatigue setting in over social distancing, and says now is not the time to back off. He says it’s time to double down and stay inside. Bello says he’ll consider closing parks if people don’t maintain six feet of distance between each other, and he’s concerned at how many cars he sees out despite orders to shelter in place.
Bello says he doesn’t want deputies to start issuing fines for avoiding the social distancing guidelines, but he says there’s a plan in place for it if it’s needed.
