Governor Andrew Cuomo says beaches and pools across New York State may open on Memorial Day, maintaining the six-foot social distancing required during the coronavirus pandemic. Cuomo says his goal is that by July 4th, beaches and pools will be open at 100 percent capacity.
Cuomo says COVID-19 numbers continue to trend in the right direction and as more New Yorkers get vaccinated the state can begin to reopen. Cuomo said the hospitalization rate is below 2,000 statwide for the first time since November.
