Former Veterans Outreach Center head Todd Baxter has reportedly held a face-to-face meeting with Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn, and told the sheriff that he’ll be running against him this fall.
Newsradio WHAM 1180 talk host Bob Lonsberry says he learned about the meeting on Monday through sources.

Sheriff O’Flynn is a Republican who served as undersheriff to the late Andy Meloni, then sheriff since 2001. He has won re-election three times since then and is running again this year.
Baxter spent 20 years with the Rochester Police Department, then was hired to straighten out a corruption scandal in the Greece Police Department. He served as chief for four years before stepping down to become CEO of the Veterans Outreach Center.
