Police in Batavia say two people found dead in a cemetery Wednesday were apparently killed by lightning.
The bodies of 34-year-old Richard Garlock and 32-year-old Jenea Macleod were found in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Erie County Medical Examiner confirms both were hit by lightning. The full report on cause of death is not yet complete. There were no signs of drug use or foul play.
Batavia Police checked with the National Weather Service and found there were numerous lightning strikes in the area the night before the couple was found.
The incident is still under investigation.
