Monroe County Legislator Rachel Barnhart (D, Rochester) has introduced two bills says says will help restaurants amid the rise of third-party food delivery services like Grubhub and DoorDash.
Barnhart’s first bill would require those services to get written permission from a restaurant before listing them on their platforms. Some restaurants don’t want to participate in delivery services, but currently they have to, anyway,
The second bill caps the amount the third-party delivery services can charge to 15 percent. Barnhart says they often charge 30 percent or more in commission fees.
