Th owner of a popular downtown Rochester bar has decided to close it down, rather than risk violating state COVID-19 guidelines.
The 80W Bar and Restaurant in the East End says it’s been difficult to get customers to comply with masking and social distancing guidelines over the past several weeks. Owner Mark Siwiec told Rochester TV stations that even with added security it was hard to get customers to follow the rules. He said rather than risk his liquor license, he would close the bar until the pandemic has passed and the environment allows him to bring in customers while at the same time keeping people safe.
