Federal prosecutors say the man accused of holding up a Rochester bank has been found guilty by a jury.
U.S. Attorney James Kennedy Jr. says Joseph Peeples III robbed the Chase Bank on South Clinton Avenue in Rochester, getting away with $109,000. He was tracked to Binghamton, where he was arrested about 13 hours after the holdup. Investigators say he left about $10,000 in a taxi cab, $43,000 in a Trailways Bus Station bathroom and $52,000 in his hotel room in the process.
Peeples had just been released from federal prison for an unrelated bank robbery six days earlier. He’ll be sentenced on July 27th
