The Monroe County Board of Elections says it received another 410 absentee ballots as of Tuesday, meaning more than 103,000 of the ballots sent out have been returned. That’s more than 75 percent of the total sent out.

The have also received 4,246 Affidavit Ballots that were cast at polling sites on election day which must be verified to see if they will count. Bipartisan teams are currently in the middle of that process, with the judging of the ballot envelopes to begin on Thursday. At the same time, the BOE will begin counting the absentee ballots as they progress towards certifying the results of last week’s election.

The board says there was 78 percent overall turnout for the November 3rd election.
