From year-to-year, season-to-season, NFL teams having plenty of tinkering to do. The Buffalo Bills are no exception.

So far this offseason the Bills made made plenty of additions to shore-up their defense by adding defensive linemen Trent Murphy and Star Lotulelei via free agency and added the talents of linebacker Tremaine Edmunds via the draft.

Buffalo’s offense will have plenty of new faces as well, but the question marks are much bigger on that side of the ball. Due to that, Bleacher Report tabbed the Bills as one of eight teams in the NFL with what they labeled as “heavy workloads” ahead of them in terms of roster adjustments needed.

Here’s what Brad Gagnon from B/R wrote on the Bills:

The Buffalo Bills are also installing a new offense under incoming coordinator Brian Daboll, but that alone doesn’t mean they have more work to do than three quarters of the league. Instead, it’s the fact that there’s still plenty of mystery regarding who will quarterback that new offense.

The Bills just might have the only real quarterback competition in the NFL this summer, with rookie No. 7 overall pick Josh Allen potentially pushing free-agent pickup AJ McCarron and second-year fifth-rounder Nathan Peterman. All three have generated buzz already.

Plenty of evaluatin’ to do.

With training camp kicking off from St. John Fisher College at the end of July, the three names on everyone’s mind will be Allen, McCarron and Peterman.

The starting QB appears to be up for grabs, but per Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott, Allen will start as the third-team quarterback when training camp starts while McCarron and Peterman will split time with the first team.

Allen did briefly slide in with the starters in minicamp, but mainly stayed at three. He’ll have to turn some heads to get his chance to be Buffalo’s opening day starter, but with a tough start to the schedule in 2018 against the Ravens, Chargers, Vikings and Packers, it might be a good idea to keep Allen waiting.
