New York Attorney General Letitia James says she’s moving to immediately empanel a grand jury to consider the Daniel Prude death.
James says in a statement Saturday afternoon that “The Prude family and the Rochester community have been through great pain and anguish.”
An immediate move to a grand jury was one of the demands Black Lives Matter in Rochester made on Thursday.
Daniel Prude died in March, a week after he stopped breathing while being restrained by three Rochester police officers.
