The Attica woman who pleaded guilty to killing her husband and burying his body in a manure pile on their family farm has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison.
Charlene Mess was originally charged with second degree murder, criminal use of a firearm and tampering with evidence. She pleaded guilty in April to the manslaughter charge as part of a deal with the Wyoming County District Attorney.
Mess didn’t speak at her sentencing in Wyoming County Court. She will serve five years of post-release supervision.
