The Attica Police Department says there are no “creepy clowns” in that village, just some kids who walked down a street wearing clown masks plus inflation through social media.
The department says they’ve found all sorts of widespread misinformation, rumors and unconfirmed alerts about clowns. They say there have been no confirmed reports of people dressed as clowns committing any crimes, no residential break-ins and no arrests.
Chief Dean Hendershott says if you see something unusual, don’t be afraid to report it as usual. And if you read something on Facebook that alarms you, call the department’s business line and ask if it’s true.
