Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio was sent back to the Livingston County Jail following a bail hearing this afternoon. Judge William Coker ruled that he doesn’t have authority to grant Astacio bail, because she’s already been convicted of DWI.

Astacio’s attorney, Gregory Salmon, sought the bail hearing after another judge sent his client to jail Monday. She was arraigned on seven alleged violations of her probation.

Judge Coker said any applications for new motions in Judge Astacio’s case will have to be made through Livingston County Court, because that’s where she’s being held. Her attorney, Gregory Salmon, moved to file a writ of Habeus Corpus in that court challenging judge Stephen Aronson’s order on Monday that sent the troubled judge to a jail cell.
