State and local government representatives along with families who have loved ones in nursing homes demanded today that the state relax its COVID-19 visitation policies. They want to visit their loved ones in person, and say they haven’t been with their loved ones since the lockdown back in March.
Assemblyman Brian Manktelow held a news conference outside the American Legion Post on Dorsey Road in Greece, calling for easing of the restrictions that keep visitors out. The Assemblyman says New York’s COVID-19 numbers are down, the nursing homes now have PPE gear in place and the families should be reunited.
Five area nursing homes are also supporting easing of the state restrictions.
