A Rochester parolee has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a Rochester woman on Sunday afternoon.
Police say 27-year-old Jah-Mel Lester was quickly identified as the shooter, and he was taken into custody by police and a U.S. Marshals task force.
The victim was shot on Parsells Avenue and is recovering after being taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Lester is charged with assault and two charges of criminal possession of a weapon. He was on parole from a robbery conviction.
