Rochester police have made an arrest in a shooting back in June on North Clinton Avenue at Andrews Street just north of downtown. They’ve charged 29-year-old Byron Davis Jr. as the man who shot the 30-year-old victim in a parking lot. The victim survived and is recovering.
Davis is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and drug possession. He was arrested at the Livingston County Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges.
Police also made an arrest last night of a man carrying an unlicensed handgun after stopping a car on Lyell Avenue for traffic law violations. They also found cocaine in a passenger’s possession. Dontae Ellis, 22, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon. And Keith Williams, 32, is charged with drug possession.
